Sensory processing issues can play a part in all of these problems!
Night and day, our bodies are constantly bombarded by stimuli from our internal signals and our external surroundings. When we are unable to effectively process this sensory information and respond in a healthy manner, our well-being suffers for it. Everything from our physical, social, and emotional functioning is negatively impacted by a dysregulated sensory system. This can damage our relationships, our careers, and our health.
Through four virtual sessions with an occupational therapist, clients will confront underlying sensory issues that may be creating big problems in everyday life.
The sessions include a companion workbook with assignments and resources to use during the sensory course and beyond.
Session 1: Decoding Your Sensory System
Gain a thorough understanding of your sensory system and the way your body uniquely receives and responds to sensory information and how this influences your behavior and memory.
Session 2: Sensory Strategies
Create personalized plans to address your sensory needs at home, work, and in stressful situations. Deconstruct negative behaviors in your life and understand how to address them in ways to bring sustainable change.
Session 3: Holistic Healing, Fueling Your Body
Learn about the interconnecting factors of diet, exercise, and lifestyle choices that contribute to effective sensory processing. Identify your motivation type and how this impacts your ability to change behaviors in order to set and achieve your goals.
Session 4: Holistic Healing, Healthy Physical Routines
Learn about the interconnecting factors of sleep and exercise that contribute to effective sensory processing. Practice effective methods for goal setting and ways to set yourself up for success in creating long-term lifestyle changes.
